Bathroom Renovations on the Costa del Sol
The bathroom is the renovation with the highest impact per square metre on the Costa del Sol. Older apartments from Marbella to Estepona still run their original 1980s bathrooms: mosaic tiles, shower-over-bath, hidden pipework that corrodes. Replacing it properly — not cosmetically — is what we do.
A VANHEES bathroom renovation is a full strip-out and rebuild: everything removed to the walls, plumbing renewed where needed, proper waterproofing, new electrics, and then the finishes — large-format tiling, a walk-in shower, a floating vanity, modern lighting. What's included
A typical full bathroom renovation includes:
- Complete strip-out — tiles, sanitaryware, old pipework
- Plumbing renewal and new waste runs
- Full waterproofing (membrane) before any tiling
- New electrical points, lighting and extractor
- Large-format wall and floor tiling
- Walk-in shower with glass screen, or shower-over-bath where preferred
- Vanity, mirror, sanitaryware and taps fitted
Timelines and disruption
A single bathroom typically takes one to two working weeks depending on tiling complexity. We protect the rest of the property, remove waste daily, and if it's your only bathroom we'll tell you honestly at the quotation stage how the downtime will work.
For rental properties we often renovate between bookings or pair the bathroom with a kitchen and repaint so the apartment is only out of service once.
